Jacob Deserres of the Saint John Sea Dogs, warming up before an exceptional, and winning performance the 3rd period of the 2011 Memorial Cup final game vs. the Mississauga St. Michaels Majors. He appears to be well inside "The Zone" here.
DeSerres made 34 saves for the win in his second straight Memorial Cup final.

  • "Presented with a two-on-one break later in the third, DeSerres made a brilliant save on Rob Flick to keep the score at 2-1" - Toronto Star

"Then, just a few minutes later, DeSerres stoned left wing Chris DeSousa flat on his stomach with his right pad." - NHL Website

  • "Another member of the Sea Dogs who felt redemption was goalie Jacob DeSerres. The 21-year-old was in goal for Brandon when the Wheat Kings were drubbed by the Windsor Spitfires in the Memorial Cup final a year ago. He didn’t have a place to continue this season until the Sea Dogs called.

  • All DeSerres did was reward that faith with a spectacular 34-save performance in the final. He was especially good in the third period with the Majors pressing.

“After last year I didn’t know if I would get another opportunity. I‘m glad I did,” said DeSerres, who calmly scooped up the puck when the game ended before he was swarmed by his teammates." - CBC Website

  • "The Majors had a few close calls in the third, including a wraparound attempt by Devante Smith-Pelly in the 12th minute that slid through the crease. Mississauga put together a great shift with about five minutes left in the third. But DeSerres shut the door on a Shugg deke down low, then kicked out the right pad to rob Rob Flick on a one-timer." - Sea Dogs website
