"Another member of the Sea Dogs who felt redemption was goalie Jacob DeSerres. The 21-year-old was in goal for Brandon when the Wheat Kings were drubbed by the Windsor Spitfires in the Memorial Cup final a year ago. He didn’t have a place to continue this season until the Sea Dogs called.

All DeSerres did was reward that faith with a spectacular 34-save performance in the final. He was especially good in the third period with the Majors pressing.
“After last year I didn’t know if I would get another opportunity. I‘m glad I did,” said DeSerres, who calmly scooped up the puck when the game ended before he was swarmed by his teammates." - CBC Website

"The Majors had a few close calls in the third, including a wraparound attempt by Devante Smith-Pelly in the 12th minute that slid through the crease. Mississauga put together a great shift with about five minutes left in the third. But DeSerres shut the door on a Shugg deke down low, then kicked out the right pad to rob Rob Flick on a one-timer." - Sea Dogs website
