i had always ask myself if Philip Glass composed over the editing or the editing was done after the music?

@antonartaudify Usually the music is composed over the final edited version of the movies. I believe that this was the case for Powaqqatsi as well.

@antonartaudify Actually, on the DVDs, there is an interview in which Godfrey admits that he drove Glass nuts because he'd hand him "locked" film to compose and perform to, and then re-edit it after, which then Glass wanted to re write because he had specifically written changes to match the changes in tone of the films. Godfrey seems to have wanted less connection between audio and video. Maybe the emotions derived from the music were messing with the semiotics, or maybe Reggio was nutz ;)

Well it seemed like the perfect project, to pick a whole film with non-stop spectacular shots, I think you lucked out for your source material ^^

I can't recall the part with the bird & monk @ 2.20 though.
