On April 9, 2010, Mt. Baker Ski Area had one of it's nicest powder days of the season. Temperatures in the low to mid 20's, it had been snowing solid for three or so days. Nearly two feet of very cold powder the day before, and 15 inches on this day, and then sun came out. Forest and a small group of local hard core riders made the hike up the arm, a ridge line extending to Mt. Shuksan, and then starting hitting it big. Two of Forest's friends went before him and had big air. One off the edge of the Beast -the big black rock/cliff face with the look of a snarling demon - the other off the diving board which is the cornice/wind lip just to the left of The Beast.
Then it was Forest's turn and he hit it at the apex, and popped to get even more air. The video speaks for itself, this kid has balls of carbon steel, he stuck his landing, and this is what it's like at Mt.. Baker and East 542.
I kept watching it over and over....unbelievable. The description of the video is so true.....this is what you see at Baker
