This song is not a cover of "Jessie's Girl". That part was just a joke... Mike messing around with the other dudes in the band. You can see them laughing when he starts playing it. Remember this is around the time that Boogie Nights came out, and Jessie's Girl was featered prominently in one scene.
The best part of this tune to me is that they would have played it forever... the song only ends because Mike's amp craps out. Hilaroius.

everytime i hear every song of american football, and my friends asked me "wow, what band is this?" i always answered "its american football, a new band, just formed this year.." and they believe it. their sound never get old, never.

@ClashingWithBlue Everything you said applies to me...I've been playing guitar for a few years and I've never been too much of a singer, but as soon as I heard the things Mike Kinsella has done I realized that music doesn't have to be incredible to mean something. Don't get me wrong, Mike IS incredible. But I realized that music is about getting out your thoughts in ways you can't through conversation. Music has become an outlet for me, and I owe it all to Mike. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
