He did start braking with loads of room left,but he must have known the hairpin was coming up and with the line he was taking thats a full 90 degree turn he would need to make. Gutted for the guy he hit, he must have been pissed!!

if you look he did brake early enough. i reckon classic case of BRAKE FADE
