Thank you! This helped very much. Other places on the web were using the Jet.OleDb provider and it required opening the Excel file first. Really appreciate this.

Can you post the whole statement on the line "conn.connectionstring"? Mine don't seems to work as the debugger keeps saying "Could not find installable ISAM"
