  • Do you have any tips for someone who has to clean and pack up their sax in 1 minute? I have band and that is about as much time we have to clean, pack, and leave. Also, is it ok to use a pad saver instead of the end plug?

  • @AlainahB Yo AlainahB, thanks for the post. You are on the right track with the pad saver. It will work fine and save you time. The other "must do" is to to wipe of your finger prints with a cleaning cloth. BTW, please buy my sax care kit, support your repair technician!. Blessings to ya.....hj

  • Can You Tell Me, This Yamaha Alto Saxophone Model No is ?

  • @carsica

No problemo....It is a YAS-200AD. It is the same instrument as the YAS-23 but is called the "Advantage" line and comes in a different case and has slightly different engraving. The YAS-23 & the YAS-200AD have the same retail price.

    Thanks for asking, hornsmasher john

  • or rather true...

    WHY MUST I MISSTYPE????!!!!!

  • I believe what you are saying is new, but your name makes me rethink my stand...

  • @hornsmasher i have the YAS-200AD. my friend had a 23. the only difference i noticed is that the YAS-23 is made in Japan and teh 200AD is made in America. I liked mine better but that mightve been because mine was newer. but yes there is no difference at all haha. HATED that stock mouthpiece though

  • why didnt you soften the reed in water/youre mouth? befor assembly?

  • You never lay a sax on its keys -.-"

  • My steps for assembly are different

    1. Put the body on the strap and place around neck

    2. Put the neck on the body

    3. Put the mouthpiece on the neck

    4. Put the reed and then ligature on the mouthpiece. I do the Reed last so I don't chip it.

  • Very good video. Good edition and very professional instructor. I like it a lot.

  • Is this good for silver and gold plated saxophones?

Silver and gold are very soft metals, do they rub off when you clean the sax to frequently?
