Guide Dogs for the Blind trains in real-life situations such as escalators, stairs and subway platforms. Note how Instructor Ben Cawley gives the dog a cue to turn left, on to the subway tracks, but the dog disobeys. This technique is called "intelligent disobedience." The dog will refuse a request if doing so would put the team in danger. These dogs save people's lives every day!

  • Great work! This was such an interesting video. I laughed when the young man at the end attempted a drive-by petting thinking you couldn't see him. Too funny!

  • @guidedogsaregreat also helps them become more aware of their back paws, cuz most times they just follow the front paws.
