Scenes of a large "Redwood Empire Special" that originated from the Northwestern Pacific RailRoad. The train is seen after a locomotive change for the remainder of its journey on the Southern Pacific Railroad.

A sign on the side of the train proclaims "100 CARS OF REDWOOD LUMBER TO POINTS EAST". The train is lead by a cabforward locomotive, and has a second cab forward locomotive in the middle of the train.
