October 2009 - Singer Island Florida
After snorkeling with the family watching some fish, got the hell out of the water after seeing a dark shadow lurking in the distance. Went up to the condo to get some lunch. Sat on the balcony and saw what we were swimming with. WOW.
Thats a big tarpon rolling through the school at 1min 30

I have snorkeled this area for years and yes, there are sharks out there, but no, for the most part they could care less you are there. The best thing you can do is only swim when the water is not murky. If the shark can see you, he isnt interested, there are alot better things to eat out there than people. This is clearly a tarpon and a small shark.

the shiney fish is a tarpon. And the shark was just a baby black tip. It would still give a good bite though. Dude prob had no idea the shark or the bait pod was even there till after wards. Don't piss off the shark and the shark will leave you alone!!!

First of all its right by OCEAN REEF PARK and it is a shark you can tell the guy is fine because he is not flashing his white pale hands around.
Second of all i grew up there i also snorkled and have gone scuba diving in the inlet. andi have seen first hand all of the sharks there i counted 70 and just became tired of counting them. i have had my legs rubbed and my board bumped by sharks.
