26/01/2009 We went to Bekasi today to visit once again the home of Rulof and Melly de Fretes, that is my father and mother in law and Conny's parents. The main reason for this as it was quite a trek from the centre of Jakarta was so tat Conny could visit the grave of her dog Pootsie who saddly passed away shortly before we arrived in Indonesia this year. Although this is not shown in the film. There is a local cat which appeared to be a good thing to follow as a focus of caputring the road. Rulof makes an appearance with his umbrella, for some reason it appears that no body likes to go out in the rain in the Jakarta area? At the end of the film Viracocha Legi, our nephew who was with us arrives on his pushbike looking for his father Steven who had kindly driven us there.
Rulof is the ederly man with the umbrella. He is my father in law and lives in Bekasi, Indonesia. Apparently he was born on the island of Ambon. I am told that he has some Portugese ancestry mixed in with the Indonesian, hence his name.ot sure how many generations ago that was though?
