This is a simple guide for the "headlight" called SSC-P7 on Ebay.
A simple guide for both buying and "installing" the SSC-P7 headlight.
Perfect headlight package for night orienteering, night running/bicycling or other fun/work activities at night time (or in a dark place).
In Sweden, one can buy this lamp, very similar to this one, from Mila through these retailers: http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=536488 and to that high prices...228-327 US$). However, thanks to cheap "Ebay-stores", it's possible to get this package home to your post office, for about 40 US$ (shipping time is roughly 10 working days). The strength of the LED-light is 900lm (some, even the manufacturing firms, claim it 1200lm, but that is only in theory), and fully charged it will be able to give that output for more than 3 hours.
I can strongly recommend buying it for about 40 US$ on Ebay, from Hong Kong, as it worked out perfectly for me all the times I've ordered on Ebay. This guide give some brief recommendation of how to buy it, and then what to do when you got the package in front of you for the first time. It's possible to buy a new or an extra battery on Ebay separately, and the same goes for an extension cable.
And at last, if you haven't tried Night orienteering or even Orienteering before, just do it!!

  • Regarding the battery, my first suggestion is to save/stick with the original type provided in a package. NOTE: The contacts may differ some (most irritating) millimeters, but i think its possible to have higher voltage input if you find any that fits. So if you find a bigger pack, be sure it is the same slots & take a chance!

Example: I bought the nice bicycle / headlight package offered from lifebike2011 (Top-rated Ebay-seller) also; but as you can see it is the opposite(!) slot configuration

  • Hello you all! Time flies. The technology is improving. I now recommend everyone to level up to the "XM-L T6 headlight" instead! Looks pretty much the same, and about 33% better light output.

The 1600-1800lm "XM-L T6" is most probably 1200lm in reality (as we night orienteering runners controlled it).

    The 1200lm "SSC-P7" = 900lm in reality (...)

  • @spectual I had no instructions either and it was really confusing but this video helped me as well.

  • Any tip on a bigger battery pack for this one? Can you use a higher voltage one?

  • Thanks for doing this video.

  • I now see them also sold on ebay as 1800lm, do you know if those might be improved models of sorts? Thanks!

  • Thanks. Mine arrived without any instructions at all so I appreciate your video :)
