the point of this video is stores can better provide goods for their customers based on this statistical data. It increases revenues for companies and thus, expansion creates more jobs. It's the macro data they care about, not at the individual level.

To all the smart guys who don't wish to cooperate, you're just paying more money to the govt through penalties, so yeah.... illogical.

knowing they do this makes me less inclined to shop at 'target'. I feel they are invasive and find it especially derelict

I'm so glad federal law forces citizens under penalty of law, is helping Target Inc. more effectively convert us into materialistic drones.

I'm sure that is EXACTLY what our founding fathers intended.

Why should my time be used for the benefit of a private corporation - under the threat of a fine for non-compliance?

Converting an address to a GPS figure is as easy as going to Google maps.

MY POINT IS AS SOON AS YOU PUT A NAME ON THE FORM IT IS PERSONEL INFORMATION NOT STATISTICAL,AND THE FACT THAT THE CENSUS HAS ADDRESS INFO IN GPS FORM IS A BIT MUCH

No because they release only aggregated data, not individual responses. The annual survey will give information for population groups of 70,000 or more. And on topics where there is a possibility that someone might be able to figure out which block a certain respondent lives on (people who live in group homes, for instance) the bureau releases that data only on a county, regional or state level.

TMPI! This is screwed up! Fine once every ten years I'll tell you how many people are living in "my" house. But I refuse to tell you any other personal information. Why do you care how long of a drive I have from home to work... What aren't the gas prices high enough? Who is going to know when I'm home or not?? PRIVATE!!... what's so private about this survey?? You are providing my personal information to just about anyone. This is crazy.
