@sykophunk actually sony vegas pro 9 is probably your best bet, its made to handle the large hd files in raw format. I usually export in 1080p WMV, takes a while for larger videos to save, but its by far the best quality without putting it in bluray

@Proton1 Waiting for the next year's model always results in a never ending loop, I bet the 2011 model will be better than the 550V, and the 2012 model will be better than the 2011 model etc etc
The 520V is a fine camera and the improvements in the 550V aren't big enough to regret the purchase of the 520V

Brilliant image quality. Would consider this against a high quality SLR such as the panny GH1

it lags depend on internet speeds and such as well as what are known as peak times.

I bought this camera a few months ago, and all I can say is: I LOVE this camera!!
The only issue is that the slow motion is imited to three seconds, but besides that, it's an incredible camera =D

I was wondering 2 things if anyone knows the hdr xr500v and the xr520 are the same except the nightvision and hardrive size and why do some hd videoes lag really bad and stop and some (like this) don't and they stay smooth how do you do that.

no they both have the same features, the only difference is the memory of the Hard Drive

Great movie. Could I please ask what software you used to upload this movie to YouTube? I have the same camera and struggling to get a HD movie on here.

I use Magix Movie Pro 15 , but you can use Super is the best program to convert any video file including AVCDH files and is free!!
