Pictures from Doling Park featuring Giboney Cave in Springfield Missouri. Doling was at once a thriving theme park featuring a water slide, carnival rides and a skating rink. It is part of the Springfield Greene County Park District. The easiest way to locate the Park is to take Kansas Expressway north to Talmage (which is halfway between Kearney and I-44 at the Kansas Expwy Church of Christ) turn east and Talmadge will dead end at the park which will be on your left. The cave and trail around the top of the cave are awe inspiring. The Park District has also constructed a small walking trail through the woods on the north side of the lake. It is rumoured the Park may be expanding some day into the old quarry area (which is on private property on the NW side of the park currently). If you can find the trail to the quarry (which is still in the park itself-don't go on private property) go to the top of that hill and look for a long downhill slide to your left into the valley below. My daughter and I had a blast sliding down that and trying to get back up many years ago!
