Audio only,
This is a performance of Very Ape from the legendary 7-23-93 performance, in soundboard audio nonetheless. Plus this song is one of the four songs with Big John Duncan on the guitar.

  • hey Idiotska, uploader, why do u say "....with Big John Duncan on the guitar." ? I can see there are 2 guitars on the music, i assume one is Kurt and the other is this John Duncan? Why? Isn't supposed to be Pat Smear? You know the story? Plz share :) Thanks

  • @guitarFAIL Pat Smear joined sometime around September, before the In Utero tour and their SNL appearance. How they got a guy like Big John Duncan to play some songs is a mystery to me.

  • I totally need to be told repeatedly that the riff is taken from Los Brujos.

  • this song is thunderous as hell.

    the lyric:

"if you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first"

might be my favorite Nirvana lyric

  • @Idiotska big john was actually a tech for nirvana for a while. He had john play a few songs to test how being a 4 piece would sound again.

  • Krist is so funny xD

  • Wow this live version of Very Ape rocks. It sounds very raw. Guitars are very powerful here. This show should be released officially with the 20th Anniversary Edition of In Utero.

  • Kurt OD'd on Heroin that very morning.

  • @kumberbear hahahaha i liked that

  • and "Los Brujos" diddled it from Jack London.

So who had greater intellectual property rights, two it?

-- "a grey horse and a travelling preacher"

  • kurt is off his head at this show!

  • @Idiotska Omg, you're right--kanishka! I had no idea. Nirvana's rendition is so much better, though.
