DemocracyNow.org -
The lead author of The Goldstone Report on the 2008-2009 Israeli assault on Gaza has backtracked on one of his key findings. To discuss the implications of Judge Goldstone's position, Democracy Now! interviews Adam Horowitz and Lizzy Ratner. They are co-editors of an abridged version of the U.N. investigation titled, "The Goldstone Report: The Legacy of the Landmark Investigation of the Gaza Conflict."

"The judge only comments on one small part of the report," Horowitz says, "which I take as an implication that the rest of the report stays intact and he is still in support of that."

In an editorial run Friday by the Washington Post, Judge Richard Goldstone said, "Civilians were not intentionally targeted [by Israel] as a matter of policy." Now Israel has called on the United Nations to retract the report on the devastating war that led to the death of about 1,400 Palestinians, including hundreds of civilians and 13 Israelis.

  • @holytodsloan They probably couldn't find a Right winged war mongering Zionist that felt like lying that day? I am sure the women and children that were in the schools and hospitals that were bombed were forced there and not actually there for medical treatment or for learning...That wouldn't make any sense? I am sure Hamas made civilians stand right under the white phosphorus shells too? Oh, don't forget the 10's of thousands of chickens that Hamas used as shields? You people are shameless!!

  • The mere suggestion that Israel would carry out a credible investigation of it's military is like asking them to investigate whether the 6th Israeli Prime Minister (Menachem Begin) was a terrorist. Of course not...The bombing of the King David Hotel was a legitimate target, even if 91 civilians were killed, including 16 Jews! You have a better chance of being bitten by a shark in your local swimming pool, than to hear a Zionist extremist tell the truth.

  • " During operation cast lead the Israeli Defense Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.

"Hamas, like Hezbollah are expert at driving the media aganda . Both will always have people ready to give interviews condemning Israeli forces for war crimes.

They are adept at staging and extorting incidents."

  • @IRightYouWrong Nor do they mention any of Hamas crimes, their charter, their deliberately sacrificing their own people, their lack of cooperation. No mention of how many rockets were launched against Israel, no mention of how long people had to spend in bomb shelters, no mention of the physiological damage on children,no mention of the extraordinary efforts made by Israel through pamphlets, phone calls to avoid civilian casualties...

  • @Yitzhakhazak israel is about as democratis as north korea. stop spreading this bullshit hatredfed monkey.- only your zionist friends will clap to your crap

  • @Yitzhakhazak keep on lfeeding delusion. good your world's becoming tighter and tighter

  • This is the Israeli reaction:

Goldstone is out. The UNHRC is out. The UN is on its way out too. Very soon. Four letter comments show the stupidity of those who have swallowed Goldstone´s report. He will not be well received in Israel and he will probably forbidden to do so, for his own safety so to say!

  • @andyOsalek

If "fuck" is the only word you know then you will be "fucked" yourself.

  • this is fuckisrael and a 'credible' investigation? i don't believe even brainwashed zionists buy that- they're happy because they feel untouchable sucking Palestinian blood

  • this is fucking disgusting
