Ford Motor Company is introducing a new technology called EcoBoost that will deliver up to 20 percent better fuel economy on half a million Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles annually in North America during the next five years.
The EcoBoost family of 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines features turbocharging and direct injection technology. Compared with more expensive hybrids and diesel engines, EcoBoost builds upon today's affordable gasoline engine and improves it, providing more customers with a way to improve fuel economy and emissions without compromising driving performance.
Derrick Kuzak, Ford's group vice president of Global Product Development explains EcoBoost and the company's sustainability plan in this video.

  • You do know that ford owns mazda right?

  • Ford was just recognized as being in a statistical dead heat with Honda and surpassing Toyota in quality. I think you are only seeing the beginning for this company. Mulally has them cranking out very high quality product and there new entries look pretty sharp.

  • Its not intended to be a sales video to keep your short attention span.

  • none. 0. GM has nothing to match this. This is the holy grail for FF performance. It's about time someone actually puts it into serious production.

  • mks is bigger. mkz is the cross-branded fusion. both very nice tho. and make sure you get SYNC!!! I cant live without it.

  • "...340 plus hp, and 340 lb ft of torque..." There's a good application for front wheel drive!!

  • yeah now they own a whopping 13% of mazda.

  • If I have to listen or watch anymore of this power point presentation I'm gonna throw up. This is not how you interest buyers. And why did they pick this old guy to present it. He sounds monotone and and does not seem enthusiastic about his own product that he is presenting.

  • I doubt it was the 335i.

They run 0-60 in the low 5's high 4's even with the automatic...

  • Chevy doesn't use ecoboost, they use Ecotec (sp?). Right now chevy has 2 main versions, both 4 banger; the 2.0l turbo and the 2.4l naturally aspirated, both of which are used in sky (redline), solstice (gxp), cobalt (ss) HHR (ss), and a couple others. Ford will have the leg up with the v6, but expect chevy to combat this with its own turbo v6 soon, at least thats what I predict.

  • Fans of the SHO are used to seeing yamaha make the engine. will this be acceptable?

  • Bring Back the SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO SHO...
