The Wreck Bar's Resident Mermaid: Marina of MeduSirena.com swimming about the Wreck Bar At the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel (formerly named Yankee Clipper Hotel) in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It is the first time an aquatic performer posing as a "mermaid" has appeared regularly at the Bar since 1962. The swims are MeduSirena's retro-homage to aquatic performances that were popular during Florida's Golden age of tourism.

  • its beautiful~ will they allow you to add air hose? perhaps some fish in there and plants? make it look like the real ocean? easy to hide air hose in rocks or plants while under there..

  • @HadarahLT Thank you! The style of performance is reflective of the "Old School" style that was shown in hotels and lounges back in Tourism's golden age. The breath hold passes are part of the style- air hoses would make it a lot more difficult to maneuver- Plants are placed about- but fish would be an impossibility, as it's a chlorinated pool. MeduSirena does perform in actual aquariums from time to time.

  • who's marina??, and is that a real mermaid??

  • Marina is the performer's name. Nope- not a "real" mermaid, but an aquatic performer. (please see video description)

  • ohhhhhhh cool mermaid !

  • I wish we could have a bar like this with a Swimming Mermaid. Women that are lovely resembling a fairytale feature. I will probably be a regular customer; not to drink, but only to watch.

  • Where do they get air?

  • @Medusa22 I see. I can hold my breath for a long while under water. This job looks fun.

  • @JohnSilverfan01 No air hoses here, JohnSilverfan01- just breath holds. I wish we did have the luxury of having air hoses- but as it's a hotel pool, we must go about it "old school". I don't mind though, as it ads a bit of calmness & an extra-retro touch.

  • @WIBRUCE Transparent tubes of air next to the windows as she swims by them.

  • Wow, how long can those girls hold their breath for?

  • The most perfect job in the universe.
