Louis Vuitton has been in the trunk business since he opened his first shop in Paris on the Rue Nueve des Capucines in 1854. His trunks were incredible back then- and they are still amazing... works of art!

Some of our clients like their trunks untouched- with all of the evidence of their century plus travel and tales to tell: cracks, tears, gouges, patina, dust and grime. It tells a story.

But many of our clients want their tired old trunks brought back to life. They've lived long and hard, and deserve to live out their existence in spectacular fashion. Jesse is able to help them out- he works his magic, to literally light up these fabulous old, trunks...

He uses no paint, no varnish etc. The natural brilliance of the brass hardware comes alive with a little elbow grease and polish- it looks to me like he's flipping on a switch, and turning on the light on each and every one of those little rivets! The leather warms up beautifully with just a bit of conditioner.

I love watching the process- and thought you might too!!!

  • omg, why would you clean it! im sure it lost value!!!!!!

  • It depends on the trunk. If it's trashed originally then it needs a clean-up. If you go to the boutiques, and look at the trunks there- they've all had light make-overs. A nice patina is good, but no one wants dirt or grunge. If there's major buildup- or rust, we get rid of that. Plenty of trunks that we sell, we don't touch at all.

  • this is product of louis vuitton is original?????

  • Yes! Louis Vuitton has been making trunks for literally over a hundred years. The trunk in the video was made right after the turn of the century! We sell mostly authentic newer small accessories as consigners, but trunks are a really fun part of our business. If you are in the Beverly Hills area, feel free to come by the store in my blog and take a look! Sarah

  • i love louis vuitton!!!!!!!

  • And also, if you buy bags like LV you're clearly a "lbael whore" as you put it. The Monogram canvas has been a statement of Louis Vuitton's heritage and their commitment to quality for the past 152 years. It's the counterfeiters who have tried to tarnish their image. Unsucessfully I might add.

  • If you were to try to take this on an airline today, the cost would be outrageous, because of the incredible weight and oversize dimensions, especially with the recent price increases. This sory of case is just for display and it makes a nice one at that.

  • any trouble getting these on airlines?"?????

  • great work with the hard wear. Was the leather to worn out to restore?
