I theorize it is possible we are just rubber banding back and further into planets to survive the planets catastrophic cycles. Could it be that the intelligent beings we are looking for deep in space is in our bathroom, bedroom, and pocket mirrors the whole time. The Earth is 4.54 billion years old and we are supposed to believe that only one human civilisation has existed on it and it is just happened to occur in the last 3000 years! There's probably been dozens of human civilisations that have existed on Earth and then been wiped out by catastrophic events like asteroids, etc, and it will happen again. Look how 'disturbed' our solar system is. Venus spinning backwards, Uranus on its side, etc.
