It's interesting how you can almost always tell what period of the war the these videos were shot in based on the German soldiers facial expressions.

Early war (1939- mid 1942), the German soldiers are always smiling (when not in combat) and seem confident, optimistic, and a little naive.

Mid-war (late 1942 -43), there are still some smiles, but they seem hollow and a shadow of true happiness. Most are indifferent.

Late war (1944-45) the smiles are gone, replaced by a permanent stoic stare.

ive worked with some german soldiers and i will honestly say they are a good group of guys and they bring some damn good chow to the field allthough i dont see why they love our MRE,s so much but that is their choice and sometimes we argue about which tanks are better and we even argue bout the ww2 tanks we dont look at the past as something to fight over but we still compare specs of our equipment the german army is a good army and most of them speak english they even let us shoot their guns

@warlord19kilo i was 3 times in Combat 2 times Yugoslavia and 1 time in afganistan as german soldger

and its nice to see that oter countrys dont thing thats it is the old germany(3 reich)

first i was not sure what will other countrys think about us when we come back in combat but it was a nice welcomme from all other nations that make me happy to hear that from other soldgers that we are not more the Evil Germans. thx for that got save all your soldger lifes grezz from germany

@g0d00101 this war was fought between russia and germany, america only enters a war when it already is decided like you already did in ww1.

and still today you fight like cowards. bombing the shit out of everyone with your cowardish airforce befor you go on the ground, and when you do, you get your asses handed over to you. bunch of pussies. german soldiers of ww2 made fun of you. the only ones who deserved respect are the british and the russians, but americans were a joke.
