Sergei Nakariakov plays on a specially customized flugelhorn made by Antoine Courtois that has 4 valves, which allows to play lower than normal flugelhorns, the Courtois AC156 Series also features a 6.6-inch Rose brass bell designed for a dark sound.
- Model:

Courtois AC156R Professionel Series Bb Flugelhorn.

You can see the instrument in the maker's web page (realy beautifull by the way) :

  • Incredibly beautiful !!! The world needs to know more about the flugelhorn !! Too bad the recording wasn't perfect-- I got broken sound from the flugelhorn on quite a number of notes. Or maybe it's just my system? Thanks so much for uploading regardless :)

  • *standing applause*

  • damn he's so into the music he looks like a zombie

  • His note production, the way he just breathes into that first note is beautiful. All of it is beautiful.

  • good music.

  • beautiful!

  • @giele85

    because he can.

  • Why does he play a four valve instrument without using the fourth valve? :-)
