I think it is very sad that some people are rushing to judgment. I am a veterinarian and a couple of years ago I rescued a cat in advanced pregnancy from a kill shelter. She had a bad respiratory infection, but gave birth to five kittens in a safe, loving environment. Four of her kittens came down with her respiratory illness and died in spite of intensive medical care. However, one female was healthy and survived. Both mother and daughter are now spayed, happy, healthy house cats.

Agreed. People would think twice about breeding if they went to an animal shelter, like the one work at occasionally, and saw the boxes of kittens being dumped on our doorstep filled with half dead, and sometimes dead, kittens. Don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die; breeding is perverted and wrong.

@jhgritsch Disagreed. People only should let their cats have kittens if they can keep them alive and can afford it. And, being able to see a mother cat giving birth and taking care of her kittens is one of the most beautiful things of the world. Sorry, but I prefer to have kittens born from my lovely cat, that have one adopted and neutered. If I wouldnt have a cat, then, OF COURSE, I would adopt one (or all of them, if I could). But having kittens, if you know what it means, isn't irresponsible.

And what exactly did the owner state that I missed? I have plenty of understanding, more than you ever will. I see idiots like this person who doesn't fix their cat come into the shelter all the time to dump off litters of kittens. You have no idea what you're talking about, why don't you get the rocks out of your head?

so I take it u are not able to read or keep an attention span ....did you not noticed what the owner stated? .. jump and perhaps you will have an understanding.. especially if u stay in mid air..

@jhgritsch and too bad there are not jail times for Negative rebuttals ! and or hefty fines.. before you get your panties in a wad.. why didn't u take the time to find out the story behind this before opening mouth so big one can almost see your tonsils... any way its just sad so many people are filled with anger. I understand the over population of domestic animals, please take time to get the full story before reacting

@jhgritsch How do you know this person isnt keeping the kittens. Or giving them to family, or what ever. They are obviously good at raising animals,they dont seem like they will putting the kittens up. Some people just like to hear themselves talk,cause its what everyone else is doing. Know your facts before talking
