the box iz tuned...the lower the hertz the box iz tuned to the better youll be able to hit the low bass notes...

what does it mean when its tuned to something? whats being tuned? the amp?
hey man that system is fucking bangin beyond belief, i'm hell envious :( what mids and highs you running? i got two type R's and it probably aint even hitting half as hard as that, but i don't have the cash to pay for dual type X's since i'm only 16 :(

I got my type x's last year when I was 17 =p I total'd my car into a deer and bought them with insurance money though. I have type alpine r's in the doors, alpine type s's in the back deck, and little alpine tweeters up front, all ran by an infinity 4 channel amp.

I have a yellowtop under the hood, 2gauge wire back to the trunk where there's another yellowtop, about 3feet of 4 gauge going from the 2nd yellowtop to the amp. I built the box, ported is better than sealed, but you need a bigger ported box to get the deep notes that a smaller sealed box gets. Ported gives better sound IMO, and a lot more of it.

thanks, i was thinking of putting another yellowtop in the trunk, does the alternator have enough juice to power both, the reason why Im asking is that my bass cutts in half after I start the the car, and sometimes when im driving itll go back on.

2 yellowtops should be plenty, an aftermarket high-output alternator isn't made for my car, but my stereo seems to be fine now with 2 yellowtops
