The first in a three part series of songs about the dragons and dragonriders of Pern.
Sorka Hanrahan's dragon Faranth is often considered the first queen dragon, but this is not the case. She was not the first queen to hatch, mate or lay eggs- but she is the first Senior Gold, ridden by the first Weyrwoman. By later Passes, she is confused with being the first gold in existence.
