Sumi Jo sings 'La Rosa Y El Sauce (The Rose And The Willow)' composed by Carlos Guastavino in 1994.

==[Lyrics (Spanish)]==============

La Rosa Y El Sauce

La rosa se iba abriendo
Abrazada al sauce,
El arbol apasionada,
La amaba tanto!
Pero una nina coqueta
Se la ha robado,
Y el sauce desconsolado
Le esta llorando.

==[Lyrics (English)]===============

The Rose And The Willow

The rose was opening
cleaved to the willow.
The passionate tree
loved it so!
But a cheeky young girl
took it away,
and the disconsolate willow
laments it so.

  • Don't like the piano either, but her singing is very nice.

    P.S: she makes a mistake with the lyrics. It's ¨el árbol apasionado¨ not ¨apasionada¨.

  • @violetavalery @toutouzim007 Opera singers are supposed to sing 'a' instead of 'o'. "o mio babbino caro".. They sing 'o mia' not 'o mio'. That proves them professionally trained.

  • @smoothiw you are wrong - they should always try and pronounce a or o correctly, it is extremely important - unless there is an excuse, ie extremely high, when sometime it is not possible. Who sings 'o mia' - never heard anything like it!

Brava.

  • @smoothiw ok, but that open ¨o¨ should sound like an ¨o¨ and not an ¨a¨. As a matter of fact, when she says ¨rosa¨ it sounds ¨rosa¨ and not ¨rasa¨, so I would say she has made a mistake in the lyrics, but it's no big deal, she still sounds fine. BTW, I have enough professional training to tell the difference between an open ¨o¨ and a down and out ¨aaaaaaaa¨.

  • wow me sigue sorprendiendo

  • excelente!!!!!!!!!!!!y que intacta la pronunciación eso es una profesional!!!!!!!

  • @violetavalery and then: everybody is happy because she made a mistake...listen to the music! mybe you sing it better without mistakes

  • @maart1789stupid comment, who cares about the one note...the pianist is great, listen the way he follows the singer

  • Simplemente Hermoso
