I believe Ahmadinejad never said anything to nuke Israel or to wipe it off the map. I think it's just an attempt to demonize him so any future/potential political or military action against him or Iran will be justified.
Having said that I also think that Israel has the right to exist and there is no argument against that. I don't understand exactly what Zionism is, if Zionism is defined as the right of Israel to live like other countries I approve of that
