Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:

The Lexus RX 300 was introduced in the 1999 model year.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. After the dummy moved forward into the airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any hard structure that could cause injury.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

  • Safe for its time, and for today.

  • @lusticles that would partially be driver fault because even if the ABS malfunctioned, you could've still regained control of the car by overpowering the ABS

  • @JAPANTUNER100 Yea my family has had the first rx of late 1998 and i know all the safety stuff, and you are definitely correct.

  • Title is wrong on this video. The first generation (RX 300) lasted from 1999-2003, second generation (RX 330 and RX350) from 2004-2009 and the third generation (RX350) from 2010+).

  • @lusticles well if ur stupid enough to run into a pole then u must me stupid enough to hate lexus

  • dont hate lexus i have a 2000 lexus rx 300 with 114600 miles and ive been in 2 accidents with it they were both women who rer ended me and their cars came off worse

  • Retard..don't run into a telephone pole at any speed.

  • I crashed my 2001 Lexus RX300 into a telephone pole at 45 miles an hour. The driver airbag didn't fully deploy and the reason for the crash was that the ABS system had malfunctioned. The Lexus dealership had performed all maintainences on the SUV until that point. That was my first and my last Lexus.

  • ChrisBennett, 18 must be your fucking IQ. There nothing wrong with the car.

  • poor car

  • Wow, that's was safe for the time. Just as safe as the Benz M
