Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on October 26, 1961. Originally released on Blue Note (84089).

  • This is actually a Monk composition called "Two-timer".It was "stolen"(sort of )by the great pianist on this date,Sonny Clark. Monk and Sonny were friends through the Jazz baroness,Nica de Koeningswarter,(See the book"Three Wishes")The publishing ownership was reclaimed by the Monk estate a few years ago.But what a beautiful performance!
