When I rode this, I swear at the very end there that really looked like Johnny Depp...the video shows it pretty well but in person, you'd SWEAR that was a real person. Disney Animatronics are the best!
Well, if people had not have bitched that there was no pirates when Walt Disney World opened then it was be all different. For one, there is no Blue Bayou because it's not in New Orleans Square, there is only one drop because they didn't need a second one to go under the berm. And lastly, if people waited WDW would have gotten Western River Expedition.
;( THIS WAS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!! ;( :( i grew up with disneyland, so maybe its just because of that...but i think they could have made this ten times better ;( like the drop..pshk! was retarded!! its like pitch dark and then it feels like you are going down a hill in a car. doesnt even get your stomach. as i said maybe its just me because im used to disneyland, but who else agrees with me on this?
my mom nad i were the last ppl on this ride last year and they had the parade so no one was there and they were playing music. it was funny cuz at the beginning of the ride a dude who worked ther was dancing around and my mom joined him and then at the end this one dude was pretending to hav a hook on his hand and i went up to him and he had a "hook-made-out-of-your-finger" fight it was really fun! ^-^
I went to WDW around the same time that this video was shot, and it was my first time riding the ride since the refurbishment. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by it. I am usually a sucker for the classics, but they did an exceptional job incorporating the movie into this classic ride.
in Disneyland it does. In Walt Disney World, the park is big enough to not actually need it, but it became so much part of the ride, that they put it in anyway

POTC IS MY FAVORITE RIDE. I'm the only one in my family who loves this ride. They think it's boring.
