For two months I had the pleasure of listening to Claude Kennedy performing outside our local health food store whenever I would go to lunch.
A few days ago I interviewed him as part of a series of mini-documentaries about people that play big parts in our society but operate from different perspectives. This is that interview.
After you've watched this, please check out the trailer for our new feature film "All Ear is Dread Hear", the link is at the end of the video. Or you can see it at www.allearisdreadhear,com.

I think I'll get a million dollars and do some BIG music!
"Oh yeah, I remember that"
I think it's about time to be doing
instead of having.
I'm selling out!

I practice everyday, so one day I decided (JK decided) to practice at a different place than my room. There is no place like this in my neighborhood: health food store, the oldest yoga studio in this town. That's why I play right in the spot where I do.
I mainly practice breathing and motion (muscles and nerves), not expression, articulation, putting it in/keeping it in my muscles.

I've worked with Claude Kennedy. He's a fine musician and a good friend. Claude has a master's degree in composition from the University of South Florida. The son of schoolteachers, he makes everyone he comes into contact with a better musician.

Claude Kennedy is a brilliant composer and 1st call session and concert musician in a better world he would be playing at the White House for one of their presentation galas. You have to be a cold hearted business person to succeed in the music/art business regarding money with very few exceptions. The Jazz community in San Francisco, the vestiges remaining struggling with the last gasps of survival was blessed to have Claude in San Francisco in the 1970's-80's.
