fayik, you will get based more than likely at HMS raleigh, plymouth or up in scotland but the one to be atm is plymouth bin done up with your own cabin room double bed the lot and its better tbh, but trainings the same lol and yeh im in the navy as a ME in submarines quality job love it, :P

yeah definately,plymouth is the better of the navy base ports, good night life and a good laugh. Its also a lot more chilled out than portsmouth. Im a WE on type 22 frigates and its a quality job too

but i thought in the navy you stay on water based operations. FOr example survival equipment specialist or chef.

nowadays anyone in the military can go serve anywhere no matter what your job, there is survival equipment on aircraft which are in afghanistan and iraq and there are still people needing feeding on land just as much as at sea.

so you're saying that people who join to work on the ship as a seamen specialist for example could have to go and fight on land with the regular marines and army. I thought they just stay on boats if you join the navy but not as a marine.

yeah you could go on land,you wouldnt be fighting, you'd be doing some other job. Anyone can be sent out there. true seaman specs are less likely but it can happen

Batch 3 Type 22's are the best. Nice video - we made one on the Cornwall in 92 WIGS deployment. Pity though is that our own government are selling off ships with loads of life left in them, typical !

I also loved serving on the leander Sirius, always seemed to smell of dieso, paint and pussers corned dog, Ha Ha!!
