1. This week in worship: - Vintage Jesus, Adultery and Lust
Jesus teaches his followers that not only are we not to commit adultery but that we not to cultivate lust. How do you do this?




2. New Youth Pastor Joe Torrence starts next Sunday February 22nd.
Joe Torrence begins his ministry with St. Matthew's next Sunday and all youth events will be at their normal time: youth choir at 4:15, dinner at 5:30, youth group at 6:00. If you would like to say hello to Joe before the 22nd you can send him an email joseph.torrence@gmail.com or give him a call 804-370-7365.




There will also be an informal parents meeting with Joe on the 22nd. After both the 9:45 and 11 worship services there will be an opportunity for parents to meet with Joe and ask questions in the fellowship hall. We are looking forward to the 22nd and hope to see you there.

3. Pizza with the Pastor- February 22nd at 12:15 PM

If you are considering membership at St. Matthew's Church the first step is to attend Pizza with the Pastor where you'll learn more about the church and review expectations regarding membership. The Pizza with the Pastor will be held at the Pastor Gordon and Leigh Ann's home, beside the church. Childcare is available upon request.

4. Full Circle Worship Concert-
On Saturday night February 21st, 6-7:30 PM join us for a free worship concert featuring the band Full Circle. Bring the whole family and worship the Lord!

5. Ash Wednesday Worship Service-
For the 3rd year in a row St. Matthew's will be part of a community Ash Wednesday worship service with other Goochland Methodist churches. This year the worship service will be at Gum Spring UMC (35 Church Ln, Gum Spring VA, 23065) and start at 7:30. Hope to see you there!

6. Bring a Friend to Church Sunday! March 1st
On Sunday March 1st we will will have a Bring a Friend to Church Sunday. Who is someone you know and care about that is not currently involved in a church? On Sunday March 1st we would like for you to invite them to one of our three worship services. We will have a free hot breakfast available from 9:15-11:15, so no matter which service you come to you can have breakfast. This is also the beginning of the Lenten Series on Changing the World.




7. Beginners Bible Study, March 1st, 6-7:30 PM Sunday Nights
Think you don't know much about Christianity? Would you like to learn more? Join Pastor Gordon and Leigh Ann for a five week introduction to the Christian Faith. Child care will be provided.
