WIAA State Individual Wrestling Finals

560 high school wrestlers earned spots in the individual wrestling tournament this weekend, but only 42 would get to call themselves a champion. The finals took place Saturday, February 28th at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Yes, he was docked a point for the slam. Wienke took a few minutes to get his breath, he was clutching his ribs quite a bit, after about 3 minutes, the refs needed a decision and Wienke said he coudn't continue, DQing Garcia. A lot of mixed reactions from the crowd. Some booing of Wienke, a good amount of applause for Garcia as he walked to the tunnel. Some boos also when Wienke took the podium.

Bull, that was absloutely a slam. he went to the hospital and has TORN CARTLIDGE in his ribs. I was yelling at the people booing. he is a great guy and he should have never been booed. YOu should feel bad.

i myself was one of the people booing the loudest. in no way shape or form was that a slam that would have someone who was supposedly tough enough to wrestle in the state finals injured. anyone who disagrees with me can answer, how else was he supposed to get him off his shoulders without losing points? most horrific way for someone to lose a state championship, and even worse of a way to win
