Slash said that he needed a side project while he was in guns, the first Snakepit was a side project from GN'R. The last snakepit was not a side project.

And there was no snakepit when Bluesball was out playing gigs.

@kaaremann Slash's Snakepit wasn't a sideproject.. BluesBall IS a sideproject to Slash's Snakepit, the mostly did covers and no albums were realesed, but the song like this one later got realed on Slash's Snakepit.

There was, and Slash did form the band, they weren't around for long, and they didn't write any material. They just did blues covers (hence the name). As far as I can remember they only did one tour and then disbanded.
