@Anothercoilgun If you had read the book, you would know that the main sense on the aliens is smell. The only reason the store was safe was because the doors were close and the vents are off. Driving any faster would be suicide with so many wrecks and such low visability. And as stated earlier, they are as good as dead if they leave the car. Also in the book, they don't kill themeselves. The movie ending was good btw. Horror movies don't need happy ending. read the book.
