On September 19, 2008 a federal judge ruled that the Library of Congress illegally discriminated against a Special Forces veteran when she was denied a job after announcing her intention to transition from male to female. In a groundbreaking decision, the court ruled that discriminating against someone for changing genders is sex discrimination under federal law.
This video is the story of Diane Schroer, the person behind this landmark case.

People can hate all they want, but someday this nation will accept transgendered people.
While your at it, ACLU, please challenge the evil anti-incest laws in this nation. Banning people from having consensual sex on the basis of who it's with is also illegal discrimination under the constitution.

SHE never was a "he"..
SHE may not have been born as an XX female but she was born with the heart, mind and soul of a woman.
Besides, not one person here, myself included, knows if she might be intersexed.

Talk about catch 22. As a man, he is a fag and as a woman, he is one homely looking bag. Hey, fag....bag; definitely a connection there.

This is a great step in the right direction towards equality. Hopefully in the near future ,when more cases like this come to light, we will get a non discrimination bill passed without hassle...

Um, gays DO have rights in this country. Transgendered / transsexual people do NOT have *any* rights or protections in the USA, yet.
Gay and transgendered are two totally different things.
If I were gay, I would have all sort of rights and protections. But I'm transsexual, so people are totally free to discriminate against me in any way they wish with no fear of repercussions.

We WILL have gay rights in this country, Christian Right, sooner or later. Just you wait. You'll have to accept gays as human beings and stop being afraid.
