"Enlightenment" describes the activity of time, which is no act at all because no one is acting and nothing is being acted upon. Everything is happening to itself, and so everything is enlightened.
This is what happens when someone tries to objectify conceptually the internal, subjective quadrant of existence as best as one can. Physical bodymind. Subtle bodymind. Even subtler bodymind, called causal bodymind. Nondual bodymind. Everything arizes and self-liberates in the nondual bodymind (which is neihter formless nor formful), according to certain points of view one can take in a healthy manner,
read The Guru Papers: Masks of Authoritarian Power, and it'll put you'll off 'gurus' for LIFE ;)
You can rationalize belief in that, for example, what myth you believe can be anaylzed. Its origin, meaning of symbols etc. And doing this you pare down to what you CAN'T rationalize?--like getting to roots of things. Using thought to getting to...?
Nice vid, Matt. Could it be your fear of sounding like a guru that makes you uncomfortable of instead using the terms eternity, oneness, or perhaps even God? Would not a rose by any other name?
The true 'guru' seeks to empower others rather than make themselves more important. However, I would also say in some regard gurus do not really exist, or rather we must be our own guru. Is someone who shares what they see a guru? Not necessarily. Yet we are all teachers and pupils at once. I would say the moment anyone considers themselves only teacher they have ceased to be so. We are all interconnected, so what we seek to teach is what we also learn.
ha, ha... good stuff. it's already here. it's about to going not anywhere. it's about realisation that it's not going to happen, even though it's already done. questions contain the answer. yet answer can't recall what the problem was. enlightenment can't be held or stopped: it passed us be on the highway, winks an eye while blowing a horn and speeds away. ok... enough with poeformics.
I don't remember the words, but Alan Watts remarked that when you try to talk about reality and the truth, you convert something that's complex and multidimensional and simplify it into a one-dimensional concept.
ozj, I've always thought so too. Some things are too vast & complex to be compressed into a word or concept. Such as the following:
Lifetime, world, reality, universe.

Good video. Isn't it more about self realization, though? Or, is that what you mean by the self and the other?
