On Tuesday, March 17, at the California State Capitol, Lt. Gov. John Garamendi, California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Art Pulaski, civil rights leader Dolores Huerta, elected officials, community leaders and hundreds of workers kicked off a massive grassroots campaign in support of the Employee Free Choice Act, federal legislation that would restore workers freedom to form and join unions.
Speakers at the rally detailed how the Employee Free Choice Act would fix the broken labor law system that corporations exploit to routinely harass, intimidate and even fire workers who try to join a union. Participants also discussed the potential benefits the measure provides to the California economy, and its promise to rebuild our states shrinking middle class.
In this video Sacramento Assemblymember Dave Jones addresses the crowd.
