This silly video will hopefully answer this puzzling technical venture about transferring videos from DVD to (VOR and VOB) files to you computer for editing. There are many editors that will do what AVS does, but AVS is simple and works well. If you have a DVD camera similar to this one, this video will be helpful. The DC410 is a fine camera. It's well made with good audio, good video, excellent zoom, plus it has the ability to use external microphones (excellent feature in a video camera) - However, getting a video from camera to edit is a bit cumbersome.

  • will you have to convert all your videos like that?

  • @xXMissPurpleXx17 Hey Hey Hey!.. AVS is a good converter but you may want to consider an editor that will open files from the DVDs. Try AVS Video Editor - This beginner's editor is very inexpensive and can open files from your DVD and edit them. The program is a lot of fun to play with. You can do many exciting things with your videos.

  • @xXMissPurpleXx17 No. It's just the settings I used for the demo. It depends a lot on the type of video you are doing. I'm pretty sure that once you set your settings - that sounded funny - they will stay the next time you use the program (AVS). I like to stick with what works! There are, however, many options in the application for converting videos. Experiment with them - you will learn quite a bit.

  • what kind of DVD did you used?

coz i cannot see anything in my DVD..

    help me pls.. :)

  • @parkshei Thanks for commenting! I used a SONY Handycam DVD-RW - they work well. You might want to initialize or format the disk you have using the camera's formatting tool (it‘s in the disk menu of the camera). Like anything, hi-quality DVD, Tapes, etc. tend to work better. This was the type of DVD disk recommended for this camera. I’m not sure what the life span of the disks are, but I only bought 3 and used them over and over again.

  • Can this work well also for dvds?

  • @pinkjazzykats Yes, to a degree. However, I would caution you on reproducing copy written material. AVS is able to covert a wide variety of files to editable videos.
