Hey E, quick question were the Marvel and DC comics that you saw in Europe printed in english or were they translated?

I saw both versions. The french lanuage ones were most compilations of existing material. For instance, a friend of mine bought an issue that had the entire 'Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk' miniseries in it. I mentioned how it was funny that the French were getting the whole story in one shot, while we had to wait almost 3 years for it to finally get finished. (The book was in french, btw.)

I haven't read any of it, Mitiators. Not a big fan of the Image superhero books outside of Invincible. Glad you're enjoying Muppets Peter Pan! Grace Randolph is a great gal and I'd like to see her become a big name in the industry!

Where the American Comics in Paris $1 more than they are in America?

The American reprint stuff was comparable in price. The new stuff was priced in Euros, which was a bit more expensive. The albums, which were oversized, hardcover editions, were around 10 euros each which comes out to around $15 american.

Its easy to get last years books for a buck.

Just go on ebay, or conventions. I picked up batman RIP, 52, endangered species, mesiah complex, all for less than a dollar a book!

That would be nice if they could sell reprints for a dollar! I would be buying alot of DC, Image, and Dynamite comics.

right now here in peru they are publishing one more day (spiderman) and astonishing x-men (last wednesday they published #17). apparently next year we are getting the ultimates vol.1 :)

btw they cost around 1$ because they sell them with a newspaper (you buy the newspaper and with 1$ more you get the comic) :D

I live in England and I don't have any close friends who read 2000AD, its all Marvel and DC.

Im glad you mentioned my comment. Im the guy form peru btw and yes u are right the licensers are european and all the agreements are done directly with them. I mean the editor in chief of the newspaper which sell the comicbooks went toSDCC this year and talked with many artists and independent publishers, he asked jim lee to sign copies of the peruvian HUSH edition, he was surprised because he had no idea of a new edition being printed.
