This demo shows what can happen using diamagnetic materials with strong magnets. Due to the heating effect, the rotors were swapped out for stainless steel ones.

  • thanks for that man, your torque is off the wall!

  • You're welcome. It is getting quite good now for sure.

  • the heat is being caused by the ferrous material. switch to something like epoxy... same strength

  • hi again.

Furthermore, I could not handle the 2" diameter neo magnets any closer into steel without getting a finger snapped off.. I already have had a couple of close calls with those magnets. For me, the final version of my rotor still needs to be aluminum with very low amounts of Fe in it. There are various grades of aluminum out there.

Good workmanship man, congrats for the good work!

  • Hi:

Could you please share your schematics?

I have a rotor already but I need the detail on the electrical connections.

Mine is made on HDPE (High Density Polyethylene or plastic chopping board) but I think that maybe torque could be diminished because of the possible "microscopic" bending. Please explain on your coils also. How many turns? are they bifilar? how are you triggering the reject magnetic field?

    Thanks

  • Hi Ash. Aluminum is okay depending on the configuration of the stators etc. On this setup there are a stack of 2 - 1" dia. by half inch thick neo magnets inside the white plastic between each stator pair. There was never a heating problem in the rotors when there were no magnets between the stators.

  • I can hear Ian fine with Head phones. Man that really hums, it sounds like a hot rod LOL. I would of never thought the dia magnetic would do that man, you no doubt have saved allot of people some time ands efforts well done.

  • I use ViaCad. It's fairly easy to use... I posted a link in reply to your last post on the EVGray board.

  • I will be watching closely to see how this goes

  • I agree. I cannot hear your voice... but its a really goo dprogress. Maybe attach a turbine/generator? like the windblue alternator to generate more power? or a more efficient one from TLG Wind?
