  • After visiting the Apple Store and getting a quote of $430, I took it (ibook) home and used an Alan-wrench and a small Philips screw driver and took the screen apart. Apparently what had happened is the wires that go from the mother-board to the back of the screen had simply become disconnected. So I simply plugged it back in and the desktop appeared. No more white screen. I put it all back together and it works fine. I should go put an application into the Apple store so I can be a genius too.

  • Looks Like The Graphics Chip Has Come Away From The Logic Board Many iBook Suffered From This Problem It's Fix-Able.

    Or

    You LCD Is Dying?

  • Its not the mother board its the ati card inside the computer and if its not that its the wire that going to the card to the screen. My ibook did the same thing but apple told me to reinstall mac os 10 and it worked for a month.

  • NO! i tried that it made it so my screen dosnt turn on

  • reinstall os 10

  • 600 Mhz G3

  • some hints for those people who love and care for their iBooks, never lift the iBook up from the left side but below the track pad, also, make sure you have rubber feet, it will allow iBook to cool when it heats up.

  • what processor speed?

  • push on he left side under the mouse

    it may start to work

did you miss the logic board recall?
