If any of my new vehicles break down during the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty I am able to take it to ANY dealership that sells that brand and have it fixed with no problem! I was told the same thing when I bought this trailer, "any Keystone dealer can do the warranty work". Keystone themselves said I should not be getting charged and gave me 3 other places to try.... they all said because i did not buy the trailer there that there would be additional costs for any warranty work.

They don't pay their dealers for the full cost on warranty work! I have had nothing but trouble getting my 2012 Keystone Outback 298RE serviced at any of the 3 service centers they sent me to. Each one has said the same thing "we will cover what Keystone will pay for but any overages on the warranty work you will have to pay for". You should take the trailer to where you bought it to get the work done!". Brutal! I bought a Ford truck and if it craters, all I have to do is take it to any Ford rep

@beri232 Certain items are only covered by the original dealer. This is true of all campers. Dealers like ourself make sure to fully prep the unit and take care of all the things we are suppose to before letting it leave.
As for warranty work the manufacturers pay each dealership or service center a set amount based on what they agree to on the repair. Warranty and service work is profitable for us so we welcome it.

@beri232 Also if you are getting a run around from local dealers and from Keystone you should contact the dealer who sold it to you. We are always willing to help any customers we have sold to.
Also what are the local dealers saying they won't cover? You make it sound like they will do the work but if keystone will only pay for 2 hours but it takes 4 they will charge yiou labor for two hours. This should not be done. Labor rates should be high enough to cover that.

Dealerships should not be holding warranty over the consumers head! If automobile dealerships tried that they would go out of business and I think it should be the same for RV dealers. We pay darn good money for these things and there should be some backing behind the product!

@beri232 I agree 100% if the factory is paying for warranty work it should be covered. If they are not getting paid enough they need to talk to keystone. I susepct that they are charging keystone too low of a labor rate. At our dealership we use a system similar to what the manufactuers do that says each job should take blank hours to do. So fixing a minor problem might call for 2 hrs but take 6hrs for the tech to do. We don't charge for 6hr we charge a flat rate.

Also of course we charge a labor rate which covers the fact that some jobs will take longer then the set time and than we pay our techs with incentive pay to get the job done not only right but as close to the called for time as possible.
If this dealer is charging a very low labor rate of course they are not getting their costs covered but don't they have this same problem with their own warranty work? Of course they do. Why they are blaming you for their business issue is beyond me.
