Melodic Metal Self Harmonization Using Delay

Video Description:

I wasn't going to put this video up, but I thought some of you would think the concept is pretty cool. I'm using my friend Glenn's (other guitarist in the band) Schecter since it was available at the time, and Mike's (Vocalist) Marshall amp which had the delay effect option. I decided to give enough delay so that I could harmonize with myself...I'll call it Melodic Masturbation.

And it's the same riff from Drop A# Melodic Death Metal Jam, just sped up then played an octave higher with a different picking style. Kinda why I wasn't going to post it, but whatever. I felt the urge to put something up...sue me!

cool vid man. what scales can be used to write melodic metal? such as August burns red, I the breather, Texas in July, but with a heavy twist, such as a plea for purging walking with strangers and volumes. hope you can help me out ! thanks !

@ryansports856 Well, I pretty much always use the harmonic minor, I don't know too much about scales to be honest with you, I never took lessons or anything, I just play what comes to mind and what I feel at the moment.

I've seen your earlier movies and I can see you are inspired by Jesper Stromblad and other In Flames ;)
