Bob Austin visited the Tullahoma, Tennessee Air Show in the early 1980s where he saw many new airplane designs and talked with several major figures in experimental aircraft design. Figures include Dick Rutan, Craig Catto, John Monnet, Garry LeGare (inventor of the Quickie), and Bryan Allen, who flew the human-powered Gossamer Albatross.
