The runway is 10,000 feet long. The aircraft didn't touch down for 3500 feet. That's why the speed-brakes on the wings look to be deployed way too late. Also, I didn't hear the engines spool up to deliver any reverse thrust . The investigation found the cause of the crash was "Pilot error". If he'd attempted a go-around (which I agree he should have tried) it's just conceivable that the outcome might have been worse.

exactly, the guy screaming jump out jump out would of been better saying calm down, it just creates chaos otherwise. i wonder how many people were blocking the aisle trying to get their hand luggage from the overhead compartments before they exited the aircraft, that would be annoying.
good ending to an awful situation tho, they were very lucky
