Being nifty on the ball means nothing unless you can match it with the physical capabilities to stay strong throughout the game. Thats why Performance Director Jon Goodman has stepped in to put the lads through their paces working on drills to increase endurance, improve reaction speed and boost athleticism.
The Academys recent match against Brighton & Hove Albion was an eye-opener and showed how fitness can make the decisive difference between victory and defeat. As the season moves forward, the opposition and challenges get tougher...
The team now must up the tempo and prove they have the right mix of technical, tactical and physical skills to take their game further.
Next up Nottingham Forest.

  • nike always use the same kids. some of these guys have in previous nike ads as extras. if you ever watched football icon then you may see some familiar faces. plus ALL these guys are ex academy - so they've all been released from pro clubs, thats why there given this opportunity, they dont just pick anyone

hope this has been of some use :)

  • how to enter this academy?

  • Where is Nike Academy located ?? and how would you join in ?

  • @oliliburd then wtf is Nike "the chance", apparantely u gotta make a facebook account to attract the Coaches but i think its long done now

  • @Zidane10Adidas oh no wonder you said what you did. you play in france.

  • @Zidane10Adidas Being well conditioned and strong doesn't hurt either, if you have speed, power, and good skill you could be the best. It is necessary to balance it all out, a player would rather be skilled and athletic than skilled and unfit. Not to mention now players are being more physical and can muscle you off the ball. Look at C.Ronaldo, and even Messi who has excellent acceleration, good upper body for his size, and skill.

  • @Zidane10Adidas You're truly right. Everything goes fast, fast, fast...but no good technique, no good game...

  • there needs to be more opportunities for kids in Australia to join academies like this... there is a lot of young talent that never gets the chance to be showcased. Check out my videos that I will be posting up soon :)
