Erifilly - UK Level 4 Regional + British Voluntaries 2011

Hi. this is a competition video of the South east of England regional and British Level 4 voluntaries 2011. They follow on from the compulsory comps. earlier in the year. Erifilly was quite looking forward to the British comp. at the weekend and she was really pleased with her performance which was generally/mainly an improvement from the regionals despite what the scores might indicate - different sets of judges on different days. Some great landings, lovely splits in her jumps, cleaner bars and vault and steadier beam. A few errors and always room for improvement in form and technique but always satisfying to go clear and feel like progress is being made. Its always hard to understand complex gymnastics scoring but I always tell Erifilly to just look over her performance and see how well she did and then consider what she did wrong and how she can improve because that is what really matters. Judging is a matter of many different opinions, from many different angles, on different days, by different people and not something to be dwelled on too much. It is not good for gymnasts to use up too much energy on such things. But if anyone can clearly explain her scoring to Erifilly she would greatly appreciate it, she is very mature and a good explanation is always beneficial and very helpful. Also If anyone has any tips or advice for Erifilly to help her improve they are always welcomed and appreciated. Hiya - just to try and help with your query on scoring, you normally find that the scoring at the national competitions is tougher and that at regionals the judges are more lenient. I'm from the south east region as well and I know this is often the case from our region to national scoring! Hope that helps :)

@Qu369hl Hi thanks for the comment - we are well aware of this theory and the same can probably be said from many regions (and it is prferred to compete in afternoon sessions).From one aspect the video shows that there are clear inconsistencies (who knows which judging is correct or who judges well)and it illustrates the fact that it is not particularly nice for the gymnasts and the video simply encourages them to be positive and concentrate on their efforts and actual performance.cont=

@Erifilly111 The video is positively inspiring for lots of gymnasts who are put in similar positions and it exposes one of the many flaws in the judging system.

She is amazing! How can the scores me lower in the British? Its ridiculous...because everything improved! Her tumbling is top notch btw! And her beam mount...WOW *_* :)
